Faculty Help: Home

Reporting Scholarship

UHLC faculty and staff may report information about their recent publications, offers, and professional activities to the Scholarly Intake Form.

Faculty Circulation

Borrowing Items

UHLC faculty may check out library materials with their Cougar Cards at the Law Library circulation desk, at one of the self-checkout stations on the 4th and 5th floors, or from the library vending machine on the 3rd floor. Faculty may also request items by contacting their library liaison.

Loan Periods

General Library Materials: UHLC faculty can check out most law library materials for one year. Items will be automatically renewed unless requested by another user.

Textbooks: Course textbooks on reserve are meant for student use, and the library asks faculty to refrain from checking out these materials. If material is needed on an emergency basis, it may be checked out for 48 hours.

Overdue items

The library will send reminders before items are due back and overdue notices after the loan periods have expired.

Items From Other UH Libraries

Paging is a service that allows patrons to borrow books from the M.D. Anderson Library, UH main campus branch libraries, UH-Downtown, or UH-Clear Lake. Books can be requested through the Law Library catalog by clicking the "Request" link and can be delivered to the Law Library circulation desk. Faculty can also request these items via their library liaison. When requested materials arrive, they will be routed to the faculty member.

Returning Items

Items checked out from the library may be returned at the circulation desk or one of the library's self-checkout stations on the 4th and 5th floors.

Items checked out from the Law Library vending machine on the 3rd floor may be returned to the vending machine, the circulation desk, or the self-checkout stations on the 4th and 5th floors.

Recommend a Book

If you don’t see an item listed in our catalog, recommend it. Send us a suggestion for a new item and we’ll consider it for our collection.
